I told them that they were responsible for the listing on their web site, and they clearly knew or should have known that seveal key factors in the listing were not true, so thaat they also bear responsibility for the falsehoods, and will need to make concessions if the owner will not. I have asked for a concession in the price due to the false advertising, but they have not yet agreed, claiming it is up to the discretion of the owner. I could go on with more details about shoddy conditions, but suffice it to say, you cannot rely on what Jack Lingo's listings say about the amenities or quality of the properties they list. I pinted all of ths out to the rental manager on Monday, but no one has come out to fix anything. The handrail by the stairs to the side yard, which you use to go to the beach, is not fastened to the house or any other support, so it provides no suport and someone could easily fall over if they leaned on it. The overhead lighting in the fourth bedroom, which has 3 twins, doe not work and is equipped with only one bedside table lamp. They advetise a gas grill when it is only a Webe charcoal grill. Lingo clearly knew that the porch was not screened-in but continues to list it that way to draw people in willing to pay top dolar to be on the water with a screened in porch.Īlso, they advertise the master bedroom as having a queen size bed when in fact it is only a double. All of the adjacent properties have screened in porches and we watch enviously as they have fun and entertain well into the night on their lovely porches. The porch is not usable at night due to the serious mosquito and fly problem here. The porch is in fact not screened in, and has not been screned in for quite some time, as weeds and plants are growing vigorously up and over the sides of the porch onto the porch floor.
JACK LINGO PET FRIENDLY RENTALS FULL
It was listed as havng a screen-in porch the full length of the back of the house, facing the dunes and the bay. We are currently renting a property diretly on the bay (300 Bay Ave.) for $4,700 including tax. The amenities listed do not exist, which makes the advertising/listing statement deceptive. Jack Lingo does not stand behind the features it lists for properties on its web site. Lingo's staff is just out of hand with disregard toward potential customers and deserves no one's patronage. Try anywhere else.prudential, coldwell, long and foster, crowley. The rudeness just wasn't necesarry and completely turned us off. I'm a teacher, not a realtor, business icon, or public official, and all I can say is if this is how Lingo and his staff approach business, they will NEVER be successful with my family, or people like us.educated, upper-middle class that is in love with the Rehoboth/Dewey area, and use these valuable summers as reunions with our loved ones. My family and I were so upset by this agent's cavalier attitude toward business that we officially decided that we would NEVER go with Lingo, even if we had few or no other options. And Dave outright made the comment that showing us the properties this time of year (and this was 3 weeks ago (June 2009) was "an inconvenience." He also stated that "the owners of THIS house could care absolutely less if they rent it out or not" the house was filthy, overpriced and and was completely outdated, with appliances, furniture, bathrooms, etc, all from the early 1970's and in serious need of repair/refurbishing/remodeling.
Recently, and regretably, we've looked at renting through Lingo again as we found a home that would better accomadate the increasing size of our family.Dave, a current rental agent, was very reluctant to show us the house before we would make any agreement.much the same as Sam Mills a decade ago standing around with her arms folded, recalcitrant and rude while showing us properties. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Rude, Rude, Rude! Sam Mills, a rental agent who may or may not be there anymore, treated us like dirt. We have, however, rented once through Jack Lingo in 1997 when our owner switched companies. In fact, my family has rented from Long and Foster (previously Anderson/Stokes) for 46 years.
We have almost always rented through Long and Foster with excellent results. I usually handle the reservations every year. First,I am a native of Pennsylvania, now living in Los Angeles, CA for 10 years, and have been vacationing every summer of my life (31 years now) in Rehoboth Beach or Dewey Beach, DE.
